This year principal LaKymba Longstreet will be returning to spend her first full year with the students of West Bolivar Middle School. Longstreet may be fairly new to the district but she is no stranger to the challenges of education administration. "I have been in education for 15 years. Before coming to the West Bolivar Consolidated School District, I worked in Humphreys County as a principal," she said. Longstreet is also familiar with the region. "I attended Delta State University where I obtained a bachelor’s in Elementary Education with endorsements in English and Social Studies. I also earned a master’s in Exceptional Education and a specialist certification in Administration and supervision both from Delta State University," said Longstreet. Success in education takes a village and Longstreet said the "unity within the community is something (she) really enjoys." It is exactly that unity that she hopes to draw from in the coming year. "I am excited to keep working with the WBMS staff, students, parents and other community members to provide the boys and girls the very best education. I am confident that we will continue the work being done to make our school one of the best school in the Mississippi Delta," she said.
